BLOG -- Recap of October

October started nice and then ended with some discomforts but also with a nice bang.

"Outings" / Events in October:
- I had vacation for a week. I did some errands for the first few days and then stayed home for the rest of the time and binged an anime series.

- I got my wisdom teeth removed this past Friday. I was not sedated. I think my gums were numbed so the removal was still painless, though I had some pulling sensations. I'm hoping the recovery process will be smooth and uneventful.

- I tuned into Stephen and Mal's Extra Life Twitch stream yesterday. Extra Life is an event where streamers play video games to raise money to support a children's hospital. It was a really fun and hilarious time. I nodded off randomly for brief moments through the night but I stayed by the computer until the end. I'm already looking forward to next year's Extra Life XD

- Had a brief voice chat with my LINE friends. It was really fun as usual :)

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn achievements / news:
-I logged in to do the Halloween event.

Exposures:
- Nothing this month.

Finished...
Watching:
- (Movie): Escape Plan 2 -- The first movie was better.

- (Movie): The Blue Lagoon (1980) -- Best to skip this
.

- (Documentary): The Speed Cubers -- It was interesting. I never thought it could be competitive.

- (Anime): Chihayafuru -- Very good and very addictive. I really hope a season 4 comes out. Arata's accent is quite... alluring. xD I might blog about this in the future.

- (Anime): Darwin's Game -- It was iffy at the start, but got more interesting in the last half.

- (Anime): Cyberpunk: Edgerunners -- A bit too edgy for me at times, but well-done.

Playing:
- (PS4): Yakuza 5 Remastered -- The story was messy but I still loved it. A review will be coming soon. :)

- (PC): Vampire Survivors -- I lasted 30 minutes in one stage so I'm counting it. This is a really fun and addictive game!

Reading:
- (Manga): 86 by Asato Asato [art by Motoki Yoshihara] -- The manga series got cancelled after the 3rd volume (due to health issues with the artist), but I read it anyway. The manga ends somewhere in the first season of the anime, and the manga is really good. The core beats are the same as the anime for the most part, but certain details / perspectives are different. The artwork is really good, too. For anybody wanting more of 86 after the anime, I recommend checking this out. :)

That's it for October. Here are a few pics / screenshots I took this month plus a YouTube video.

A couple foods I got during my vacation -- an ebi fry sando (fried shrimp sandwich) and cream buns from Hattendo. I wanna try their melon buns so badly!

A book the Daniels put together that has some relation to Everything Everywhere All At Once. Not sure when I'll actually read it, but I'm glad to have something related to that movie.

An amusing sight in Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage. It's very uncommon to see the same leader for all five players in a co-op session.

One of the games played at Stephen and Mal's Extra Life (Iron Chef America Supreme Cuisine). The patties are on fire!

"trying to recommend that one niche show you love" by ProZD.
Would you try Chihayafuru based off this description? :)

Thanks for reading!

As usual, if you have any questions / comments about anything, feel free.

Take care, stay safe, and until next time! :)
