BLOG -- Recap of November

November was surprise. I wasn't really expecting it, but almost every day was busy for me, and not exactly 'cuz of work either (though there was one week where I worked nearly 11 hours for three days' straight...).

I never really realized it, but I've been spending more time with friends now than I did before the pandemic. I am grateful to continue to be in touch and that I am still able to create some precious memories during these times ^^

"Outings" / Events in November:
- Watched a friend stream his first playthrough of Yakuza 0. So far it's been really fun. Looking forward to seeing him get to the end, and also seeing everything else along the way.

- Had an online hangout with a friend for almost the whole day. It was really nice and fun!

- Had a voice-chat with a few friends via LINE. That was fun :)

- Attended an online seminar / talk on "The Power of Music in Anime"
. It was okay. They had a Spotify playlist of songs to enhance the seminar / talk. I think referring to specific tracks during the segments would have been helpful to illustrate what they were talking about. If you want to check it out, it's on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru6BLPt6J6o

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn achievements / news:
-I haven't logged in at all this month ><''.

Exposures:
- (Radio show): The Darkside Radio Show -- I've been meaning to mention this for a while now. It's a radio show that a friend of mine hosts every Thursday at 9 PM EST, and it focuses on the darker kinds of music. I don't always catch it, but when I do it's pretty neat. Here's the Facebook page if you're curious: https://www.facebook.com/TheDarksideRadioShow/.

That's it for November. Here are a couple pics I took this month plus a YouTube video.

Me playing Among Us (private games) with my sister and five of our friends.
In this pic, three of us were roaming the map together and spotted the
suspected imposter (only four of us were left in the game). We just stared him down
until he killed me in front of the other two and got booted off.

I got this on Day 1. I probably won't get around to playing it until years from now sadly ;_;

"YMS: Kimba the White Lion" by YourMovieSucksDOTorg YouTuber.
This is a very long and eye-opening video if you ever had the impression that
The Lion King ripped off Kimba the White Lion.

Thanks for reading!

As usual, if you have any questions / comments about anything, feel free.

Take care, stay safe, and until next time! :)

BLOG (PERSONAL) -- My Small Words to My Former, Former Boss

Early this week, I was informed that my former, former boss passed away. I was very shocked and saddened. He was still so young...

For this blog, I'm going to reminisce a little. Talk about some of the good times. For me, I only ever experienced good times around him.

So I don't have to keep calling him my former, former boss, let's call him Chris. For a bit of context, the company we worked for was made up of small teams, one team to one VP.

What I remember most about Chris was his ability to have fun and to gather others around him. As a team of 4-5, we'd sometimes have team lunches or dinners. We even went karaoking a couple times. For really special occasions like Christmas, we'd have dinner with a couple other teams. While on his team, I really felt a familial bond with him and my teammates.

One of my most remembered, random moments was during one of the team dinners. Chris was sitting next to me, and he said something nice about me and then lightly placed the back of his fingers on my cheek. Out of reflex (likely 'cuz I was a bit tipsy, too), I bared my teeth and growled. Chris and anybody who saw it laughed. When I realized what I did (I growled at my BOSS), I apologized soon after. ^^;

Chris also loved cooking. Sometimes when the company would have a lunch event, he'd bring in some of his own cooking to share. When the company would have BBQ lunches out on the building's rooftop, he'd be one of the main cooks if possible.

Another thing I remember is him participating in Movember and his attempts to encourage other colleagues to follow suit. Then when Movember was almost done, he'd organize a Movember party with raffle prizes and a live band and everything.

Thank you, Chris, for bringing Life and fun into the work place. It was an absolute pleasure.

That's it for this blog. Thanks for reading.

Please take care, stay safe, and until next time *e-hug*
