BLOG -- Recap of September (EARLY)

It's quite early to be doing a September recap blog, but I will be travelling to Japan tomorrow (!) and I'll be there for a couple weeks. I figure that I'll do my recap blog today and anything that happens from tomorrow to the end of September will be covered in future Japan blogs. 

I am so excited and nervous at the same time! XD

Outings / Events in September:

- Checked out TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) for a few days. I visited the Criterion closet and watched a couple movies.

- Visited St. Catharine's for a BBQ. It was fun, especially playing Overcooked, Brawlhalla, and Gang Beasts afterwards.

- Nothing this month.

Finished...

Watching:

- (Movie): Jaws -- This was being shown in theatres for its 50th anniversary. I've watched it in the past, but I never remembered the full story. I will remember it better from now on.

- (Movie): No Other Choice -- I watched this for TIFF. It was thrilling and surprisingly funny.

- (Movie): Rental Family -- I also watched this for TIFF. I loved it. I thought the premise was interesting, and I enjoyed seeing Brendan Fraser speaking Japanese at times. There was a Q&A with the director after the movie and that was a fun treat.

- (Movie): Demon Slayer The Movie: Infinity Castle -- It was very long, but I was still left wanting more. Overall it was pretty good.

- (Anime): Attack on Titan -- Finally, I finish watching this series. I enjoyed pretty much everything until the final season. Maybe I missed something but it didn't feel like I got closure in the end.

Playing:

- (PS5): Bugsnax -- I initially thought this going to be a cutesy catch-em-all game for weird-looking creatures. I was surprised by the characters and some of the themes and subject matter. I really enjoyed playing this.

The Criterion Closet. I tried lining up for it Thursday afternoon but the line got cut off about 50 people in front of me. I was upset but tried lining up with my boyfriend on Friday. After about 4 hours of waiting, we got to go inside.

These are the movies picked from the Criterion Closet. The top row was my boyfriend's picks and the bottom row was my picks. Of the movies I picked, I only watched House. Tampopo and Lady Snowblood will be a surprise whenever I watch them.

"Heroes of Might and Magic is a game" by Josh Strife Says.

I've played Heroes of Might and Magic 3, so this was kinda nostalgic for me. I laughed whenever Josh declared how easy the game would be and then be proven wrong.

Thanks for reading! Fingers crossed that the flight to Japan and all the logistics around getting to the hotel will be smooth and uneventful.
