Here is my movie-watching (in theatres) history for 2015. I didn't get to watch too many different movies this year... but I guess when you see how many times I watched Kingsman: The Secret Service, you may understand why, hahaha. Another reason why I didn't get to watch too many movies this year is because... well... timing.
Maybe it is just me, but I've noticed that movies overall are getting longer these days. I think average movie runtimes used to be around 90 minutes, but now they are often close to 2 hours long or longer. Now, I'm not exactly complaining about the movie length -- if I enjoy a movie I would definitely want to be immersed in that world for as long as possible. But... it does sometimes mess with the times movies are shown in theatres. Where a movie may have been shown between 6-ish to 7-ish PM (ideal movie-watching time for me after work), now it may be shown around 7:45 PM or later. So to do a bit of math for myself... if a movie's show time is at 7:45 PM... add around 30 minutes for trailers and ads (8:15 PM)... add the movie run time -- let's say 2 hours (10:15 PM)... wait till the end of credits to see if there are any special scenes (10:20 PM)... then add about an hour for me to get home (11:20 PM). Getting home past 11 PM on a weekday is just a bit too late for me, especially if I am watching a movie by myself.
If you are wondering why I don't just watch movies on a weekend, well, it's not very convenient for me where I live. Unless I was planning on doing other things like shopping or hanging out with friends, I'd rather stay at home and play video games on a weekend.
Now... even though I've covered these throughout the year in my end-of-month blogs, here are all the movies I've watched in theatres for 2015, with additional commentary for most, if not for all.

SPOILER ALERT WARNING!!
Since I will be mentioning a good number of movies in this blog, some of them will contain spoilers. Any movie that will contain a spoiler will be marked.
2015
MOVIE: 50 Shades of Grey
DATE: February 13, 2015
RATING (OUT OF 5): ***
COMMENTS: It
was kinda cheesy, but I enjoyed the movie. It was interesting to see how Grey
wanted to control Steele, but it ended up being the other way around. The
humour was unexpected at times, which was nice. I guess I should mention that I've never read the books, so I watched this with as open a mind as possible.

DATE: May 16, 2015
COMMENTS: This
is the first movie I’ve ever watched where I wanted to watch it again the next
day. It was also the first time I ever fell head over heels in love with a
celebrity (Colin Firth). I LOVE Harry Hart and everything he stands for.

MOVIE: Cinderella
DATE: April 28, 2015
RATING (OUT OF 5): ****
COMMENTS: It
was very enjoyable. This was my first time watching a Cinderella movie -- I never saw the animated one, even though I wanted to. I think Cinderella had a lot of character. The fairy
godmother was kinda meh though.

MOVIE: Pitch Perfect 2
DATE: May 15, 2015
RATING (OUT OF 5): **
COMMENTS: Only
the musical performances and a few scenes were worth the watch. Everything else
wasn’t really enjoyable for me. It is too bad. I really enjoyed the first
movie.

MOVIE: Avengers: Age of Ultron [SPOILER]
DATE: June 16, 2015
DATE: June 16, 2015
RATING (OUT OF 5): ***
COMMENTS: It was enjoyable, but not as enjoyable as the first Avengers movie.
Some of the scenes felt choppy and disjointed. I really didn’t like how Iron
Man was portrayed, implying that he doesn’t know the difference between world
peace and world destruction (if this is how he really is as a character, somebody please tell me). He’s still my favourite Avenger, and I still think
he takes things very hard and cares so much about others.
As for Black Widow, I enjoyed her romance with
Hulk. I think it adds to her character – that she can care for somebody in
that way.

MOVIE: Mad Max: Fury Road
DATE: June 17, 2105
DATE: June 17, 2105
RATING (OUT OF 5): *****
COMMENTS: This
was a crazy, but fun movie. Tons of actions. Lots of crazy characters. And I
liked Nicholas Hoult’s character despite him having such shriveled lips. The
craziest thing was the guitar player. Like… really? You have to have a
traveling minstrel when you chase somebody? I didn’t like Max as much here, compared to the previous Mad Max movies.
Furiosa was really good, though.

MOVIE: Ant-Man
DATE: August 11, 2015
DATE: August 11, 2015
RATING (OUT OF 5): ****
COMMENTS: This
was really enjoyable. The humour felt fresh and nostalgic at the same time. The
story also grabbed me.

MOVIE: Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2
DATE: December 8, 2015
DATE: December 8, 2015
RATING (OUT OF 5): ***
COMMENTS: The
acting was really good. I just personally did not like its faithfulness to the
book. Mockingjay was my least favourite book out of the trilogy.

Hahaha, I just really wanted to share it. I think this review is so amusing.
