I am a bit late, but I want to blog about this. Two weeks ago, HMV closed its last stores in Toronto, and I am quite sad. Of course, I kinda saw this coming. In this age where it is so easy to get access to movies and music digitally, it's no longer essential to own them physically. And with HMV having deals and sales every week, there was rarely a need to buy anything at full price if you had the patience. In a small way, I think HMV kinda undid itself with its frequent deals and sales.
Anyway... I just wanted to say that I had many fond memories of HMV. I often found it very fun to go there with a friend and just talk about whatever movie titles we saw while browsing. Back when my room still had space, I would usually leave HMV with a bag full of DVDs and Blu-Rays. Well, I did say long ago that I love movies.
I will always remember the time where I special ordered this Korean claymation movie called "Doggy Poo", and when it came in, I went to the cashier and said "I'm here to pick up 'Doggy Poo'". The look of puzzlement and confusion on the cashier's face was simply amusing!
My overall haul before HMV closed down.
I know some of these titles are really sucky. Curiosity got the better of me.
Anywho... thank you, HMV, for the memories. I will always remember that you existed. And thankfully, HMV in Japan still exists.
Congratulations, HMV! You will forever be immortalized in this awesome game!
That's it for this blog. Thanks for reading!
We will meet again soon for my end-of-month blog. Till then! :)
