BLOG -- Recap of August

Somehow it's already near the end of August. Where did all my Time go?

"Outings" / Events in August:
- I met up with a friend for Summerlicious. It was a good time.

- Had a voice chat with my LINE friends. It was really fun as usual :)

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn achievements / news:
-I haven't logged in this month. My subscription ends around mid-September so I'll try to log in at least once before then.

Exposures:
- (Video game): Trine 3 -- I tried this with my sister but after about 15 minutes, I called it quits. I didn't like that it became 3D platforming instead of staying with the 2D platforming structure. I also wasn't a fan that it encouraged collecting things to unlock more stages.

Finished...
Watching:
- (Movie): Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels -- Entertaining in a strange way.

- (Movie): Bridget Jones's Baby -- I watched this just to finish off the series and to watch Colin Firth.

- (Movie): The Darkest Hour -- It was okay.

- (Movie): GoodFellas -- Very wild that this was based off true events. After the movie ended, I went to Wikipedia to search up more info about certain characters and events.

- (Movie): Incendies -- Kinda confusing but I didn't lose my time
.

- (Anime): Violet Evergarden -- It felt very fluffy and just pretty during the first half. It got better in the second half.

- (TV Show): The Office (US version) -- Finally I finish it. For me, I was mainly watching for Jim and Pam's story. The last episode was a nice ending to the series.

- (TV Show): Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light -- This was super cheesy at times but had a lot of heart. I remember the struggles of fighting Twintania back in the day. RIP to the original Maidy and to Ren Osugi *bows*

Playing:
- (PS4): Trine 2 -- Similar to Trine -- only enjoyable when I'm co-oping with somebody. I'm sure there was a story, but I wasn't paying attention to it.

Reading:
- Nothing this month.

That's it for August. Here are a few pics / screenshots I took this month plus a YouTube video.

I went back to Miku Toronto for Summerlicious. I had the same dessert as last time and it was still just as delicious. <3

My first PS5 game!! Now I just need to get a PS5, haha... >_>''!

The Wordle my LINE friends and I solved during our voice chat.
I say it was a fitting word for us, hahaha.

I finally get this class in SINoALICE.

"Most Evil Livestream Ever" by Penguinz0.
This is definitely one of the more unnerving videos I've watched recently.
Even more surprising is finding out he was a character in 428: Shibuya Scramble, a video game I played years ago. My heart goes out to him (>'...')>

Thanks for reading!

As usual, if you have any questions / comments about anything, feel free.

Take care, stay safe, and until next time! :)

REVIEW LINK
Here's the link to my review of Everything Everywhere All At Once... where I barely say anything except that it's a great movie:

BLU-RAY / DVD EXTRA CONTENT
Overall, the extra content on the Blu-Ray / DVD was plentiful. Any fan would be satisfied with what we got. If I wanted more of anything, it would be a list of all the cameos done by the Daniels. :)

AUDIO COMMENTARY (movie length)
This commentary was done by both directors (Daniel Scheinert, Daniel Kwan -- a.k.a. the Daniels). This was really interesting. The Daniels talked about many things -- shots they enjoyed and found challenging, all the detail / efforts that went into creating certain sets, etc. For anybody wanting more about Everything Everything All At Once, this is worth checking out.

ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT
EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE (40 mins)
This was very robust. This segment covered so many things -- the movie's conception, all the various make-up and costume designs, how they tried to convey the different genres by changing aspect ratio, film grains... so many things. I would have loved to have a closer look at all the various notes!

One thing that I really liked was that despite having an overall idea of how the movie should be, the Daniels often encouraged feedback and creativity from the crew.

Each version of each character had their own sheet for make-up and costume design.
So organized!

Jamie Lee Curtis flying down the stairs.

The Daniels cracking up at Jamie Lee Curtis' crazy voicework at this scene.
She's got quite a pair of lungs. :)

PUTTING EVERYTHING ON THE BAGEL: COOKING UP THE MULTIVERSE (10 mins)
This went into more detail about the characters and the fighting / action segments. The length was pretty short but it was very insightful. Extra props to the MartialClub for all their work!

DELETED SCENES (14 mins)
There were some deleted scenes. Thankfully none were extremely important to the overall story or for character development. It is sad that the deleted scenes involved cutting a couple universes, but they still live on in the Blu-Ray / DVD extras!

A universe we never got to see. Can you spot Evelyn? :)

Another universe that got cut. This kind of awesome ridiculousness is what I've come to enjoy and appreciate from the Daniels. XD <3

BLOOPERS (9 mins)
A blooper reel is a blooper reel. You'll see the actors messing up, the crew goofing off at times -- just amusing things. Some scenes from other segments were shown here.

My favourite blooper was Waymond calling Evelyn Michelle at one scene and Evelyn caught it. Also the blooper at the very end with Chad crying about Raccacoonie and saying ridiculous things while trying to stay serious XD

Waymond throwing his fanny pack in the wrong direction. His reaction in the next seconds is great XD

Huh? That's not Deirdre.

Daniel Kwan about to eat a hot dog, not realizing it's a hot dog finger! D:

ALPHA BITS (12 mins)
This was split into different sections. To me, it felt like miscellaneous footage with a small focus on visual effects. There wasn't any commentary here but footage with some audio. The footage was fun and amusing in its own ways.

I really enjoyed watching the Daniels play with / test out Raccacoonie. I can see just how much fun they had.

A morning team warm-up. Everybody feels so much like a family. I love it XD <3

Michelle Yeoh getting a pic with Raccacoonie.

The Daniels playing around with Raccacoonie. It's really cool that it takes two controllers to maneuver it properly.

CLOSING THOUGHTS
In my opinion, the Blu-Ray / DVD is worth getting. The movie is great and the extra content is great, too. I kinda wonder if some special edition will be released in the future, seeing how well Everything Everything All At Once did. If a special edition does get released, though, I'll do my best to get my hands on it! :)

Below are a couple Everything Everywhere All At Once-related interviews that I enjoy.

An interview with the Daniels, Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu, Michelle Yeoh, and Ke Huy Quan at Variety SXSW Studios. I like everybody's playfulness with each other. Jamie Lee Curtis is so funny and adorable XD

An interview (audio only) with the Daniels and Jonathan Wang at the Alamo Drafthouse Brooklyn (audio recorded by Dan Moran). Really, any interview with the Daniels is fun and interesting!

Thanks for reading!

I'm gonna have to take a break from blogging every week -- I need to shift my time to other things for a while. I'll still do my usual monthly recap blogs and maybe an entry here or there. Please understand. *bows*

Take care, stay safe, and until next time! :)
