BLOG -- Recap of January

Not too much happened in January. I think I needed to wind down from all the outings in December.

My sister's husband informed me that he'll be letting the Netflix subscription expire eventually because it recently increased its prices. I considered subscribing to Netflix myself afterwards until I came across news that Netflix's basic plan has been discontinued since last year o_O! Now the cheapest no-ad plan is $18.99/month and Netflix is not worth that much to me. I refuse to pay $7.99/month for the plan with ads because it doesn't even come with all the movies and shows. Netflix doesn't make sense =_=

Outings / Events in January:
- Visited my boyfriend's relatives in St. Catherine's.

- Made a brief visit to Sudbury with my boyfriend for one weekend.

Exposures:
- Nothing this month.

Finished...
Watching:
- (Movie): Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again -- I enjoyed the singing.

- (Movie): The Fourth Kind -- I thought it was interesting until I found out it lied about being based on actual events.

- (Movie): The Call of the Wild -- It was okay.

- (Movie): Room -- Really good acting.

- (Movie): Tusk -- This was off-putting.

- (Movie): X -- It was okay.

- (Movie): Fullmetal Alchemist: Live-Action -- Not good.

- (Documentary): Studio 54: The Documentary -- It was interesting.

- (Series): Secret Level -- There were some good episodes and some bleh ones. My favourites were the New World, Pac-Man, Unreal Tournament, Exodus, and The Outer Worlds-themed episodes. The last episode was my least favourite.

Playing:
- (PS4): Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderland's One-shot Adventure -- This was fun, though it spoiled something in Borderlands 2 (which I still haven't finished).

- (PS4): Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition -- I played this with my boyfriend. It was frantic at times but overall fun.

- (PS4): Gauntlet: Slayer Edition -- I played this with my boyfriend. It was fun and short.

That's it for January. Here are a couple of pics and a bunch of screenshots I took this month plus a YouTube video.

I went to a Cajun / Creole restaurant and ordered a blackened chicken po'boy. It was good, though a bit spicy for me (my spice tolerance is very low).

I saw this in the supermarket and had to take a picture. If Squishmallows didn't become so popular I don't think this cereal would exist.

After months and months of saving the in-game currency, the Sanrio crossover banner in Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage finally came. I had about 855 rolls, which was enough for 2 pities if I needed them.

I did not need to use 2 pities...

But I did roll a lot.

I ended up doing 400 rolls.

I exchanged 100 roll points for some exchange vouchers and then exchanged the last 300 roll points to pity the last 4-star character (below).

Thankfully I got all the 2-star limited characters during all these rolls.

This pull came from another banner where I really liked the art style. I was lucky to get this on my first 10-roll.

Blue Archive also had a major banner event and I was ready with my 988 rolls. There were 3 characters I wanted and I was prepared to pity all 3 (doing 600 rolls) if I needed to.

Thankfully I didn't have to do 600 rolls. Mika and Shiroko*Terror came in my first 30 rolls.

I had to pity Hoshino (Armed), so I did 200 rolls.

Then I decided to do another 200 rolls to try getting copies. I was very lucky.

Each character had their own separate banner. If you pull that character in their own banner, you get 70 bonus character elephs, which happened for all the characters I wanted.

This meant that each character came when I pulled on their banner. With my 200 rolls, I pitied another copy of Mika to get her to 5-stars.

"Ending Daily Vlogs after 15 Years" by StephenVlog.
It is bittersweet that his daily vlogs has ended (though he will still be posting vlogs -- just sporadically), but at the same it's very understandable and I greatly support his decision. It never feels good to always feel behind because of a desire to do a daily thing, and that daily thing requires a certain amount of unknown time to accomplish. It is like committing to work that never ends which can be very draining, especially when there are other projects to do.
I didn't leave a comment on his video but if I did, I would have said:
"Thank you for your 15 years. It was a privilege to let us to take a peek into your life and those around you for so long. I am happy that we'll still have that privilege and I look forward to seeing whatever moments you continue to share with us!".

Thanks for reading! For those who celebrated Lunar New Year, Happy belated Lunar New Year!

As usual, if you have any questions / comments about anything, feel free.

Take care and until next time! :)
